A Custom Portrait of Your Pet in Pencil

I've been creating pet portraits in a variety of media and a range of small format sizes for many years now. I started creating ACEOs in late 2006 and quickly realized that they would be a great way to offer a custom portrait at an affordable price.

Now's your chance to have a custom mini portrait of your favorite animal friend, be it a dog, cat, horse, reptile, bird, bunny or ?

ACEOs are a standard size: 2.5" x 3.5" - the size of a baseball trading card. ACEO stands for "Art Cards, Originals and Editions".

I work from photos (digital preferred), but they must be clear and detailed (see sample color photo above). Please contact me before purchasing this item to determine if the photo(s) you have will work.

I'll create your detailed portrait in graphite pencil on bristol (a card stock weight paper with a smooth surface). As you can see from the sample images I've posted, I'm likely to use an interesting crop of your reference photo. Once I've determined your photo will work, I'll size and crop it to ACEO format and then e-mail it to you for approval.

Please allow 6 weeks for your completed portrait. I'll e-mail a scan of the finished portrait for your approval prior to shipping.

I can also mat your portrait to fit a 5 x 7 frame - if you'd like your finished portrait mounted so that you can put it in a standard 5 x 7 frame, you can purchase the mat for $7. I'll attach your portrait and ship the whole kit & caboodle at once. Please see this listing for a sample of what it would look like.

ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions & Originals) are mini artworks that are the size of a baseball trading card - always 2.5" x 3.5" or vice versa. ACEOs can be original art, photos or prints of an artist's work. They're a great way to collect affordable art. ACEOs may be matted, framed, traded, given as a gift within a greeting card, etc. They may be small, but they're packed full of arty goodness!
