BABE RUTH ROOKIE 1915 BOSTON RED SOX WIRE PHOTO - ORIGINAL

I have an extremely rare Babe Ruth item I won at auction at Sotheby's in New York (lot #176 from June of 2005 auction).

I am now preparing to sell it or re-consign it to SCP/Sotheby's or Heritage Auctions.

The item is an original 1915 rookie Babe Ruth photo on early press stock/cabinet card stock - measuring 11 1/8 X 6 1/3 like a cabinet card. The photo retains all of its release images and dates on the back and starts from 1915 and is considered perhaps the first image ever taken of Ruth as a Red Sox player - a true one of a kind rookie Babe Ruth - which came from the archives of a major newspaper many years ago.

In spite of the economy, early Ruth images are up in value and selling strongly. This photo is head and shoulders better than the rest. We want $10,000 for the item, which is what we paid for it - we have been assured that we can expect between $14,000 to $20,000 at auction.
