TORONTO BLUE JAYS 1992 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - ALL TIME ATTENDANCE RECORD TROPHY
" MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL - 1992 WORLD CHAMPIONS - ALL TIME ATTENDANCE RECORD - 4,028,318 - TORONTO BLUE JAYS"
The baseball trophy we offer today is extremely rare and highly sought after as very few were made. The trophy is molded out of metal in the likeness of a full size baseball glove in Silver Color with Gold Laces, and was made by AARDVARK in Canada who has made a variety of baseball and hockey trophies in Canada - and is stamped with their logo and MFG mark.
This trophy is 100% original and has not been touched up or repaired - and has a chip broken off the top part of the trophy (see photo #2) and one other small chip - otherwise an incredible item. The trophy has impeccable provenance as it originates from Ian Duff, the Toronto Blue Jays' clubhouse attendant during the late 1980's and 1990's - and has his name engraved on the rear of the trophy.
Minus any damage, this trophy commands a market price of over $3,000. However, we have priced the trophy accordingly due to the small amount of damage to the upper back/top of the trophy which measures "2" inch X "1" inch - so this is a chance to own a great part of Blue Jays history fora fraction of the price.
The trophy is "9" tall - "8" wide - and weighs over 7 pounds (very solid) - and is very well made and features a group of five Blue Jays fans in the glove, with a medallion just beneath it which reads " MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL - 1992 WORLD CHAMPIONS - ALL TIME ATTENDANCE RECORD - 4,028,318 - TORONTO BLUE JAYS". This is a prime keepsake for the Jays fan or the collector of rare baseball trophies.
The 1992 Jays were a well-balanced team supplemented by the addition of Dave Winfield, Jack Morris, Alfredo Griffin and David Cone. After clinching their second consecutive A.L. East title, the Jays cruised past the Oakland A's in six games to reach the World Series for the first time.
Toronto's opponents in baseball's first international World Series were the Atlanta Braves. After an opening game loss, the Jays won three consecutive games, two of which were the result of dramatic ninth-inning come-backs. Atlanta bounced back for a win in game five, but the Jays made baseball history in game six, winning the Series with a 4-3 victory in 11 innings. The key hit was Dave Winfield's two-out double down the left field line. Two days later, Winfield unveiled the banner the city and team had been waiting 16 years to see: Toronto Blue Jays, 1992 World Series Champs.
A great baseball display item - and you will most likely not see another. Priced well under market and sale prices.
We guarantee every item we sell to be 100% original (unless stated in our description), and we will refund your full purchase price if the item is ever deemed not authentic.
