This item is guaranteed authentic. It belonged to a Witch Doctor in Haiti. This item was used to determine a person's innocence or guilt. The Witch Doctor would spin the top half of the item and depending on which way it was facing when it stopped determined the person's fate.

This wooden Fortune Teller is about 12 inches tall and comes in two parts. The top part is very finely balanced on a spindle. It is beautifully carved.
The Witch Doctor could tilt the result in a person's favor by slightly adjusting the 'hands'. I guess if a person was willing to hand over their favorite goat they might get a suitable verdict. There is no blindfold on this Lady Justice.
