SPECIAL PRICE FOR THIS LISTING ONLY! HUGE SAVINGS OFF RETAIL PRICE! The Kachina doll is given in hopes of abundance and health as well as for religious education. The Hopis were the original carvers, using a single piece of cottonwood root. The Zunis followed, carving in the same way as the Hopis. The Navajo began carving in their own creative way, adding feathers, fur and leather to their creations. There are over 350 Kachina dolls, each with its own attributes. This gorgeous doll represents the Morning Singer Kachina, who sits on rooftops and awakens the villagers with her songs. The Morning Singer kachina is associated with bean planting time (occurs in February for about two weeks), often comes in pairs and entices the other kachinas to sing and dance and bring abundance during planting time.
