An impressive study of New England birds, heavily illustrated with drawings and figures and 33 gorgeous full color plates (edge to edge with no white margins), each plate with a cover page. Includes grebes, loons, terns, gulls, puffins, shearwaters, cormorants, mergansers, gallinules, ibises, cranes, sandpipers, curlews, plovers, oodles of ducks and geese, and more. Did we really have this many shorebirds in MA once upon a time?
