Light brown cloth with black and red spine labels. Surface rubbed and cloth with small splits along front hinge (1” at top and 2 1/2” at bottom)– cover still fully attached. Corners worn througn and head/tail of spine frayed. Interior text block has a few pages with dog-ears and finger marks, one page with small tape repair, and title page creased. Very well bound. Ex-libris with only markings a small spine number and attractive bookplate on front pastedown.

This book is essentially a gigantic listing (with brief descriptions) of nearly every named place on Earth as of 1922. Entries include villages, towns, cities, rivers, mountains, regions, etc. Pronunciations are included where needed. Includes summary statistics from the 1920 US census. Valuable reference in that it still includes pre-World War I geographical data. This appears to have been the last edition published of this reference.
