This massive and scarce book provides the very first catalogue of all the major motion pictures made and registered with the US Copyright Office from August 1912 to December 1939. Before this, motion pictures were not registered separately but included in the category of photographs. Each entry includes the film title, studio, date, number of reels, story source, director, producer, and copyright holder. This is an extremely rich source of information and a superb reference for data on early films. Includes detailed indexes by title, director, and studio.
