This older pin is about 1-3/4" wide and 5/8" high. There are 2 markings on the back. The first is a shield inside a circle. Within the shield are the letters MPB on top, PIU on the bottom, separated by a line through the center of the shield. The other mark is a diamond shape within a circle with the letters JWU on top, then to the left and right of the the diamond "No." (right) and "39" (left), and on the bottom "Union Made". It has a pin style back, not the clutch back. The pin itself is bent on the end. It look as though the plate that holds the pin in place is starting to come loose on one side. The enamel's a little scratched and there is some slight loss of enamel under the W. There are some nicks along the edge. Overall in good condition.
