The barong is made from steel so it has the look and feel of the real thing. However, the blade has no edge to it and the tip is not sharp as you can see.

The thing I like about this weapon is that as opposed to aluminium the blade is nice and thin. The aluminium trainers tend to be a little thicker so some realism is lost as the "live" weapon is not that thick.

The handle and pommel are also made from metal. The sword comes with scabbard as shown in the main photograph. The trainer has no sharp edges so is perfect for your training needs.
