This joyously Pagan baby is an outstanding example of Victorian scrap art.
We know she is a girl because she has a garland of forget-me-nots and a pink drapery precariously preserving her modesty. Likewise Victorian convention decrees that angels have feathered wings while fairies have insect wings.
The card is die cut and embossed. Slits cut in the wings allow them to be folded in and back so the card stands on the tripod formed by the wing tips and baby's feet.
