Vintage Hull and Regal Little Red Riding Hood Cookie Jar, closed basket and 2 poppies and daisy design. Made by Hull potteries and painted by Regal China. I bought this cookie jar from an estate sale and heres the best description I can give. The painting on this piece is as good as it gets, there is no wearing or marks or flaking of the outer paint job. There is however under the head/upper piece, on the underside rim a hole in the pottery about the size of 2 beebe's, there also is what appears to be 2 repairs in the same area, all on the underside of the top and I have pictured these flaws. Also inside the bottom part the glaze or paint seems to be flaking and coming off as pictured. On the outside lower back side there is a very faint hairline crack that doesnt go all the way thru and in the same area there is some minor discoloration from what appears to have been set too close to a heat source at one time, pictured also. The makers mark on the bottom is faint and bears the later regal hull mark which is the Lil Riding Hood Pat. with number and USA, these marks are not legible as it is heavily glazed but you can bearly make them out, as pictured also. This Cookie jar is the real deal, and is in much better shape than it seems I have described. Actually from the 10 or so I have seen at sales or antique shops the painting and outer appearance is the best and prettiest I have seen. The bottom part is glazed on the inside and the top part is not. If there are any question about this piece plese feel free to write. This piece measures approximately 9 inches wide at its widest point by 9 inches long, and stands just over 13 inches tall with lid.
