The item is a 2004 Original UNC Canadian Poppy Quarter Roll. They are from the Royal Canadian Mint in original Canadian Mint wrapping and are unopened or tampered. The face value of the quarters 40 x.25 =10.00.
The silver-colored 25-cent piece features the red image of a poppy -- Canada's flower of remembrance -- inlaid over a maple leaf. The coin was made as a symbol of Remembrance for the 117,000 + Canadian war dead.
The Quarter was the harmless culprit behind a false espionage warning. It was thought that the colored poppy in the center of the coin was filled with nano-technology.
The supposed nano-technology actually was a conventional protective coating the Royal Canadian Mint applied to prevent the poppy's red color from rubbing off.
These Canadian Poppy Quarter Rolls are extremely rare and are very hard to purchase anymore.
