The peacock is sacred to Hera, Queen of the Greek Gods. It's plumage was said to represent the eyes of Argos, the watcher. This particular Peacock comes from a very large Victorian scrapbook diecut--so large that I had to scan it in two sections! After restoring and putting the image back together again, it's been transformed into this 3 1/2" round mirror (refer to the photo for scale). It comes complete with a velveteen bag for storage and makes a dandy gift! |
