A white duck looks on in amazement as a red-cheeked lass with curly red hair and big blue eyes gently launders a shirt festooned with Valentine hearts, proclaiming "I''ll wash your duds and treat you fine -- if you will be my Valentine." With suds overflowing an old-fashioned green washtub, this large 1950s children's nodder Valentine card expresses a sentiment that's probably gone the way of the dodo bird in the politically correct 21st century. But it's a sweet sentiment, and maybe your Valentine would love to hear it anyway. The card measures 9" high and up to 5.5" wide. Two parts are attached by a metal hinge that allows the aproned young lady and the shirt to move independently of the washtub and duck. That's why it's called a "nodder." This 1950s nodder Valentine card is protected by backing board and a plastic sleeve. Crisp card with vivid colors, back clean. The card appears unused; there is no envelope. (I'll be glad to include a 9" x 12" white envelope at no extra charge -- just ask!) Domestic orders: $1.75 First Class Mail or $4.95 Priority Mail. International orders: Priority Mail to Canada $10.95; elsewhere $12.95. First Class Mail to Canada $1.95; UK, Japan, Australia and most other destinations $4.00, based on 4 oz. mailing weight. Happy to combine orders to save postage. |
