Antique C. P. Co. Large White Flowered Ironstone China Wash Bowl or Basin

Antique white with pastel flowers ironstone china wash bowl.  It's larger than most I've seen and very heavy.  I did some research on the mark and it's the Arms of the State of New Jersey with Ironstone China and C. P. and Co. underneath, probably made between the mid-1800's to the end of the 19th Century.

Here's some information I found:

Ironstone china was first made in 1813. It gained its greatest popularity during the mid-nineteenth century. The heavy, durable, off-white pottery was made in white or was decorated with any of hundreds of patterns. Much flow blue pottery was made of ironstone. Some of the decorations were raised. Many pieces of ironstone are unmarked, but some English and American factories included the word Ironstone in their marks. Additional pieces may be listed in other categories, such as Chelsea Grape, Chelsea Sprig, Flow Blue, Gaudy Ironstone, Mason’s Ironstone, Moss Rose, Staffordshire, and Tea Leaf Ironstone.

The pattern is what looks to me to be wildflowers; one side extends into the base of the bowl and has faded from age and use, but could be touched up with paint if you're at all talented in this area since the outline still exists.  There's one tiny chip in the center of the basin but other than that it's in excellent condition.  There is crazing but nothing excessive or damaging and to be expected in any piece over 100 years old!  The sides have a fluted design; base has gold band around it and is perfect.  There's one small area on rim where china glaze has worn off and one tiny crack on underside of rim.  Otherwise, there are no significant problems with the piece which is remarkable considering its age.  Beautiful item to display on your dining room table, sideboard, wash stand ... really anywhere you display your treasured pieces.

Dimensions:  14-1/2" r x 5-1/4" h; bottom is 7" across

Payment is expected within 7 days of Auction close, Buy It Now, or Store purchase.  If you are bidding on or are interested in purchasing multiple items, please contact me at the end of the first auction or purchase.  I am glad to delay payment for multiple purchases, within reason and where possible, in order to lower your total shipping cost.  If you need more than 7 days to complete your payment obligation, contact me so I am aware of the situation.  If I do not hear from you, I will file a Non-Payment report with eBay.  You can usually pay for your item[s] at time of purchase through PayPal as the on-line invoice will insert the appropriate s/h charges.  If multiple purchases are involved, or those that require different shipping methods, I may need to send you a final invoice with total s/h after items are packaged and weighed.  Negative feedback will be left for all buyers who do not fulfill their obligation and a Non-Paying Bidder Alert filed.  I accept PayPal on all items; cashiers checks and money orders on most, and personal checks on some.  All payments other than PayPal must clear first.

Important:  If you are mailing payment, please print and include a copy of your invoice or buyer notification so I will know which item[s] you have purchased; be sure it shows your complete name and mailing address.  I do not receive shipping information directly other than with PayPal payments so it is necessary that you provide this with your payment.  Keep in mind that all items that ship UPS cannot be sent to a P. O. Box address so you must provide a street address for delivery.

All listings contain the Shipping Calculator so you will know your s/h cost ahead of time; items are shipped based on weight and distance from Maryland 20814.  I try to ship within 5 business days [Monday-Friday] of payment being received and/or cleared, but keep in mind that sellers have 30 days from payment receipt and clearance to ship purchases.  I will always, where possible, combine purchases to save you money on items bought within 7 days of each other.  All items are available for pick-up with prior arrangement.
Most purchases ship USPS w/Delivery Confirmation included for tracking purposes; Insurance is required on breakable items and included in s/h; other items may require insurance due to the value.  USPS Insurance is optional but recommended for all others; I am not responsible if your item is not insured against loss or damage in transit; in the event an insured item is damaged or lost, you are responsible for dealing with the insurer for reimbursement.  Heavier or larger items ship UPS; Insurance is automatically included up to $100 in value; UPS items cannot be shipped to P. O. Box addresses.  All packages ship with a tracking number for delivery confirmation purposes.  Reasonable packaging fees may apply and are included in s/h.  Addresses outside the Continental U.S. may be higher so contact me before you bid or buy if the Shipping Calculator does not reflect the appropriate rate.
You should have a Confirmed Address.  If you provide an Unconfirmed Address, I will ship to the address provided; however, if the item is returned as undeliverable, I will not refund your postage.  I always send a confirmation email after I have shipped your purchase[s] so you will know it is on the way.

Review the item description and picture carefully.  I reserve the right to cancel bids from buyers with negative or zero feedback and from buyers outside the U.S. who have not contacted me in advance.  I sell personal items as well as for others; therefore, I cannot guarantee that everything is from a pet and/or smoke-free environment.  Items may have been stored and could be dusty or dirty; others may have retained odors from storage.  Clothing and other appropriate items are aired outside and/or refreshed with Febreze; I do not wash or dry clean clothing before shipment, nor do I clean items to avoid damage.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:  I do not generally sell outside the U.S. due to much higher shipping costs; however, with prior approval, I may do so if you contact me prior to bidding or buying so you will know the s/h cost as the International Shipping Calculator is not included in listings.

I am not a retailer or wholesaler so I do not have more of any item other than what is listed.  I am also not an expert on antiques or collectibles.  All items are described to the best of my knowledge and ability and as honestly and completely as possible.  If something is misstated or overlooked, it is certainly not intentional.  I welcome any questions and will answer you as quickly as possible.  I make every attempt to fulfill my obligation and want you to be satisfied with your purchase.  I regret being so lengthy, but due to some buyers not fully understanding the buying and selling process, I would rather be safe than sorry, both for your sake and mine.  If you are unfamiliar with eBay's policies, there is extensive information and clarification available on the site.  If you do not agree to the above, then please do not bid or buy from me ... I would rather you took your business elsewhere rather than be unhappy with your purchase.

The feedback process is very important, so please leave positive feedback when you receive your purchase[s]; in this way, I will know your package has arrived.  If there is any problem, contact me prior to leaving neutral or negative feedback and I will try my utmost to resolve the issue to your satisfaction.  I always leave feedback but may do so after you have left yours since newer buyers are not as familiar with the process.  I will send you a feedback reminder if none has been received within a reasonable period of time.  I am a buyer as well as a seller and feedback is the only avenue available to reflect integrity and is an integral part of building and maintaining good customer relations and trust.  I work very hard to earn your respect and expect the same from those who choose to buy from me.
