Background:
The prehistoric dinosaurs series was produced by MPC (Multiple Plastics Corp and Multiple Toymakers) primarily during the 1960s as part of their dinosaur and prehistoric beasts series. MPC was one of the primary competitors with MARX, who had been producing dinosaurs and prehistoric animals since the mid-1950s. MPC based many of its designs on Marx issues, but made changes from slight to radical to avoid litigation. MPC also cheapened production costs, sacrificing quality inthe process, and produced most of its line in bright, gaundy colors, unlike Marx who employed a lot of earth colors. The dire wolf is one of the few original MPC productions not copied from Marx.
Special Note: Background materials or scenic-type items (i.e. play matting, trees, rocks) used to enhance photos are not included. Our items are primarily vintage and therefore previously owned (aka used). However, unless noted otherwise, we list only very fine to extremely fine examples. We never use the word "mint" unless an item is still in its original packaging.
