I came across this exquisite Chinese heavily carved Soapstone double bud vase at a recent Estate Sale. The person had quite a bit of Asian artwork in the home, but I was unable to get any details about this piece. The carved flowers and vines are the main decoration, and there are lightly carved leaves and a bird as secondary decorations. The two separate vase containers have nicely formed hollows to accommodate any flowers or Artist Calligraphy Paint Brushes that you may choose to add. The interior depth of the vase is 4 1/2”. The vase is 7” tall and 6” wide. The depth is 3 1/2”.

The artist carefully carved this stone to unveil the gorgeous details and depth of this piece of art. The elegant stone carving includes flowers and leaves and a tiny bird. The block of stone from which this was carved has given the vase excellent color and marbling with red, tan, beige and white colors. I would consider the condition as near excellent. There are no maker’s marks that I could find. This vase would look great in a cabinet or on a shelf and would make a wonderful addition to your collection.
