You are presented here with a very rare and exceptional antique Greek KOMBOLOI , worry Bead Strand made of 21 Bulging Barrel beads + two large silver separator beads + 1 Front bead of perfect Bright burgundy colored FATURAN of the XIXth century.

The Beads of this strand have been in my private collection for more than 25 years. The Komboloi has been designed with sterling silver beads , Tassel and shield.

Pictures will describe better than anything else this beautiful item.

I estimate that the beads are made of very old Faturan as extensive use may be witnessed thus they very probably date back to the late XIXth century or the beginning of the XXth and are of the earliest type of Faturan . They have been carved in Istanbul and they are of typical Ottoman/Turkish bead of bulging short barrels called " Kesme . The beads show clearly that they have been hand made and have a very beautiful shine. It is an extremely interesting item.

Beads are quite large : 14.5 mm dia. and 11.5 mm height on the average!! . A pleasant size for Faturan barrels beads . It is a nice and well balanced strand weighing an impressive 60 grams with a length of 35 cm, masculine and very impressive, mounted on a sturdy cord.

The color of this strand is of a Burgundy of exceptional glow. Wear shows on the beads, adding to their attraction

The tassel is Sterling Silver, entirely hand made. The shield as well as all metail parts are also Sterling Silver, hand made and finely ornamented.

This is a very rare and exceptional item that you will greatly enjoy or that would make a fantatstic addition to any collection as it is unique . A royal gift.
