This Stunning 12" FOOTED CAKEPLATE SCHUMANN "Empress Dresden Flowers" is from my personal collection from the early 70's - minimally used for maybe 4 Holiday dinners & otherwise displayed in my china cabinet - last piece left of my dinner service and time to thin out the china cupboard ~ gold is in tact - no chips, cracks, crazing or utensil marks - never cut on with sharp knife - my cakes are on cardboard discs for easy removal & otherwise the plate was only used for cookies & chocolate strawberries 12" across by 5 1/2" high note: not quite perfectly level - off by almost 1/16" , not detrimental but needed to inform you - it leans just a tad as you look at it in 1st photo but not quite as drastic, my photography is off too ~ on bottom there's a yellow glue smear which I haven't tried to remove (visible in 3rd photo) Beautiful Floral of all colors & shades - pinks, blues, purples, yellows, oranges and greens with gold accents on white background with basket weave effect but not reticulated ~ so lovely with any color linens which is why I chose this old-fashioned elegant pattern for my trousseau. FYI: $379.95 for this identical footed cakeplate at a well-known "replacements" website on the bottom: Bavaria, light green lion, crown, sheild hallmark and beside it, Schumann Arzburg Germany EMPRESS Dresden flowers & below, a blue E&R shield of Ebeling & Reusse the Phila. distributor and a 35 below Lovely addition to any Dresden or fine china collection!
