Taxco, Mexico Silver and Sodalite Necklace (383j)

Marked 950 silver, and weighing 45.5 grams this piece is an outstanding piece of Mexican design and craftsmanship.
It fits very comfortably around the neck, with just the right amount of drop. The chain consists of seven large, slightly curved, sterling links fastened together by silver circles, ending in the heavier loop-like design with the small teardrop of sodalite set in silver in the center of the loop.
The clasp is push type and in good working order.

From the clasp to the bottom of the loop the measurement is approximately 9-1/4 inches. The widest part of the unflexible part is approximately 3 inches.
Fully hallmarked, the back reads - "Mex. - TC-70 - 950". (At least I think that "T" number is right.) The "T" marking system came into effect after 1979 replacing the eagle mark for registration. The "T" indicated Taxco , The "C" is the initial of the artisan and the "70" shows that he was the 70th artisan with that initial to register his mark in Taxco.

It is a one of a kind piece done in 950 silver and one that will receive rave reviews whenever it is worn.
