Gazette du Bon Ton Arts Modes & Frivolities, November 1912 - October 1913. Lucien Vogel, Director. Paris Editor Amile Lvy, Berlin Verlag Paul Cassirer. Two velum hand colored volumes. Vol 1 contains 191 (192) pages. Vol 11 contains pages 193 - 382 (193).

The covers are misbound. Vol. 1 November 1912 - April 1913 are contained the the cover marked Vol. II. May 1913 - October 1913 contained in the cover marked Vol. I.

Issue 4 is missing 2 plates:

Plate #6 Redfern gown "De La Pomme Aux Levres"

Plate #8 Doeuillet gown "Une Chinoise"

Issue 7 is missing 1 plate:

Plate #8 Paquin gown "Le Deu Des Graces"

There is no evidence that the above three plates were ever bound in.

Issue 8 plate # 1 "Les Trois Robes Neuves" has a small hole above the figure in the yellow dress in the border and on the opposite side above the figure in the pink skirt.

The last two plates of the April 1913 issue loose but present. Plate III of the October 1913 issue loose but present. Full page pochoir for Chez Mercier Freres advertisement with a small torn hole in the upper right corner of illustration through to the Hotel Westminster advertisement and into the previous page of advertisement section in the July 1913 issue.

A wonderful almost complete set of 12 issues of the Gazette du Bon Ton. The fashionable periodical of Paris.
The velum bindings each with a pochoir illustrations on the front cover. The end papers of rosy pink ink spot decorated paper.
The plates are in very good conidtion with bright colors. The usual and expected minor browning and off print on opposite pages.
The bindings with some soiling and staining.
The usual light browning to the paper edges.
