Originally & listed on Wal-Mart site at $255. & up. I got it delivered to Wal-Mart in DeLand & then we wrestled it to my mom's house.
For those days when the weather refuses to cooperate, either its too hot or too rainy out; this treadmill is made for the timid walker who doesn't want to go splat whenever they forget what they're walking on! I bought it for my mom after she'd had a horrific car accident. I thought that this would be a great way to tell her that I believed that she could get better & use the new treadmill with very simple bells & whistles. Except for sitting in the corner of my mother's bedroom holding up various & sundry clothing & hangers; this treadmill has not been used over 5 times in the past 5 years. My mother's doctor suggested that she get a home treadmill to augment the very little physical therapy that she was getting at PT. I don't understand many Florida physical therapists' view of "older patients". It seems that once you hit the upper 70's; PT's tend to treat you like you're made of glass or that it is impossible for you to do things that you were doing literally days before your accident; simply because you've had an accident & you're older than, say, 50. Unfortunately the doctor she had didn't understand that she is not exactly steady on her feet & she needed someone at her home while she learned to use the thing & someone who could work with her to remind her HOW to use the thing. Simple ideas, like how to take off the brake to make the treadmill work & how to put it back on. How to use the gauge & how to change the angle of her walking. Without help, it made the helping device a "monster". Once she didn't understand the gauge & how it worked, or couldn't make the brake come off so that she could use the treadmill, and once she got it going a little too fast & it scared her, that was it. We went from me being a bad daughter because I wouldn't buy her one, to being a bad daughter because I was always asking if she was using it & she "couldn't". Thank you also to her doctor who then said, "well if you're afraid of it, don't use it!" Oh yeah, thanks a LOT. So now, along with the brand new tricycle; we also have a pretty brand new simple to use non electric treadmill which folds for easy storage & oh by the way? Makes a great clothing hanger! This treadmill needs a home with an active senior who loves to walk even when the weather doesn't want to cooperate. SHIPPING/TRANSPORTATION: It is a bit heavy to lift into a pickup without some kind of ramping. I have a friend that I can get on the weekends to try to get the treadmill over to you if you live in Central Florida {including the villages or Lady Lake} or you can arrange to have someone take it from us & bring it to you if you wish. I'll charge some handling depending on your location to cover fuel but we should be able to deliver it to a wide area of Central Florida & on both coasts depending on where you live. So if you know of someone who needs a brand new treadmill, would LOVE a brand new treadmill & would love to use it more than once a year, this is the treadmill for them, or you. Especially if they or you live in the Central Florida area. This isn't a kids toy or something to trash in a few weeks; this is a quality treadmill for someone who loves to walk. It is a GREEN MACHINE, in that it does not require electricity to run. I will entertain some Best Offers but would like to at least see $185 back on the treadmill investment, considering that we've kept it like new all of these years. Thank you so much for shopping. |
