This piece is the SUGAR BOWL WITH LID. It measures 7 1/2" from handle to handle and is 5 1/2" high with the lid on.
I was fortunate enough to find a fabulous complete set of blue and white transferware made by Schumann, Bavaria. The pattern name is Heirloom and manufacture was discontinued in 1961. The china background is white. Each piece has a beautiful band of blue roses is rimmed and highlighted with gold flourishes. The group photo shows the extensive set en masse. There are 93 pieces total. There are plates, salad plates, bread and butter plates, fruit/dessert (sauce) bowls, coupe soups, and cups and saucers. There is also a gravy boat with the attached underplate, a round vegetable bowl, an oval serving platter, a round serving platter, a round covered vegetable bowl, a teapot with lid, a coffee pot with lid, a sugar bowl with lid, and a creamer.
