This is a beautiful, modern pierced basket-style bowl with an old, traditional, Russian or Scandinavian feel to it. The blue and white fanciful design element is reminiscent of that beautiful blue and white Russian china that is so popular. This piece would fit right in. The scalloped top is just perfect and results from the curved piercings that cover the sides of the bowl. It is an excellent piece for fresh fruit or candy, crackers, cookies, or even dried flowers. If you place a regular bowl inside, you could use it for fresh flowers or a serving dish for food. It is so versatile, yet so beautiful! The pure white double porcelain handles are trimmed in a leafy gold pattern, which is repeated around the bottom edge of the bowl. The bowl has an 8" diameter across the top that reduces down to about 6 1/2" across the bottom. It is 3" high, without the handles. The bowl has been used for display only so is in mint condition. It is marked Andrea by Sadek and was made in the Phillipines.
