We've sold the old American and English TIN celing tiles for many years. But several years ago one of our dealers bought an entire ceiling out of an old Chinese restaurant. It was decorated with these old WOODEN ....HAND PAINTED.....chinese tiles. VERY ornate and beautiful. Designers like to take the American Metal tins and Frame them as wonderful stand alone wall hangs. You can do the same thing with these Chinese tiles! We picked up several on our latest buying run. There appear to be 4 different designs to be found in them. We call this one the "Dragon" Design because it features what looks like a big Dragon Head with huge ornate parts.

Because these tiles came out of a ceiling there are holes in the four corners and sides. The once white borders have yellowed in places with age and where they were stacked on top of each other for years. The ornate scrolled HAND painting on each could use a good cleaning but we leave that to you (and if you do that you'll want to be very gentle and use something like a q-tip to be able to reach the little areas). Each is unique and the one you see below is the one you will RECEIVE. Measures 17 7/8" x 17 7/8".
