This is an original Zuni design created by renouned artist Effie C.

The 2 1/2" by 1¾" bolo slide features four large top grade, medium sky blue natural Sleeping Beauty nugget turquoise stones.

All the settings are hand-worked sterling silver.

The bolo tips with more turquoise stones measure 1 and 3/8ths” by 9/16ths.” The pieces feature Effie’s famous inlaid turquoise eyed snakes coiled around the stones set among hand made rain drop beads and surrounded by cloud designs along the outer edges.

The bolo cord is top quality 3/16ths” in diameter woven finished cowhide. As is, this bolo will hang between 20" and 22" in length when worn (depending upon neck size)and is simple to adjust.

In Zuni history and culture, the snake is a symbol of defiance. When the U.S. government began rounding up and relocating Native American tribes in the latter half of the nineteenth century, the Zuni tribe successfully hid on Zuni Mountain for several years and were never found. Today, they live on their original tribal lands.

This bolo is appropriate for both ladies and gentlemen.

I purchased this work of art in the 1980's from Ray's Indian Originals, a world-wide known dealer in Native American art.
