This is a lovely vintage postcard titled "Handing Him a Lemon - Memorial Day 1911" postmarked in Remsen, New York. The phrase "handing him a lemon" was early slang for being swindled or made an unfair deal. It was the origin of the phrase "Lemon Law." There are two ladies shown on the card each handing the gentleman a lemon. Humorous early real photo postcard.
Fair condition. Written and mailed in 1912. Has some remnants of black paper backing still affixed. I have not attempted to remove any of it.
See the photos. Great item for the collector.
