Hard cover first edition without dust jacket of "The Last Hurrah" by Edwin O'Connor, an Atlantic Monthly Press Book published by Little, Brown and Company in 1956. This entertaining political novel tells the story of political boss Frank Skeffington making his final run for mayor of Boston. It won the author the Atlantic Monthly prize in 1956, and was the basis for the 1958 movie of the same name starring Spencer Tracy and Jeffrey Hunter, directed by John Ford. The book is in excellent condition. All pages are intact and only very lightly age-yellowed. The cover is clean and not faded despite the lack of a dust jacket. The photo of the cover looks a bit washed out from the lighting but is actually black. All in all, a great tale to add to your collection.
