This item is a wonderful early copper teakettle or tea pot signed "Made in England" on the bottom. It dates to to c1880.
The belly of the pot measures 8" in diameter and it stands 9 1/2" high from table to top of handle.
The handle is wooden with brass fittings. It has three applied brass feet.
It has a copper insert with brass handle on the cover of it that was meant to hold a hot coal which would keep the tea hot.
It is in overall very good condition with some minor dents that do not affect it's use. It's a wonderful piece which I have owned for forty years. I found it at an antique flea market on Long Island.
It is unique with the warming insert and I have not run across another like it.
