This is a gorgeous early American quarter sawn tiger oak sideboard from the late 1800's. This piece is beautiful and looks better in person than in the photo. It has been carefully refinished and the under carriage has been reinforced. There is a crack in the wooden shelf above the under carriage which runs its entire length, but its supported by 3 boards below it and will hold a lot of weight. The upper piece has the original beveled mirror which is slightly faded. There is a shelf above it supported by two pattern cut curved columns, and a top crest above that sporting a large carved overlay. The lower piece has serpentine/projection drawers. Below is a large drawer and 2 paneled doors. The doors have a beautiful carved overlay as does as the large drawer. The drawer and the mirror are bordered by a decorative half round carved molding. It has dove tailed drawer construction, and the original ornate solid brass hardware. The hardware has a dark patina, but if you choose you can polish it back to the original luster. In the back of the upper panel on the right side of the sideboard, just below the top, is a dark area in the wood. The sideboard cabinet measures 24" deep, 45 1/2" wide x 38" tall. The overall height is 76". It has the original wooden casters. It has the original key which works in all the locks. A beautiful piece of Americana!
