Folks, this is a massive detailed history entitled “The Way A Wild West Show Operated.” It covers backstage details, operations, acts, individual participants of the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show, the 101 Ranch Real Wild West Show, the Irwin Brothers Wild West Show, the Kit Carson Wild West Show and the Two Bills Wild West Shows. It covers the operations of the Wild West Shows, detailed explanation of how the shows got done, the advance, the setting up, the preparations and documentation of the tasks assigned and to whom. Ever think what it took for the 101 Ranch to unload 100 stock work horses or how they fed the help or how the cow elephants came in handy for towing parade wagons from muddy lots? Well, it’s all here, a fantastic history that incorporates details on the acts, including The Cossacks, The Tumblers, The Miller’s Trained Elephants, The Introduction, The Square Dance on Horseback (each dancer named), Wild Steer Riding and Wild Horse Riding (Frank Guskey, Le Roy Scott, Clarence and Guy Schultz, Bill Brazo, Amos Clayton, Duke Lee, Ambrose Means, Cuba Crutchfield, Ed Lindsey, Tom Echard, Glip Holiday and George Hooper), the Rifle and Pistol Shooting (Stack Lee and Prince Winno, the 101 Ranch crackshots), Shotgun Shootings and Boomerangs (D. V. Tanlinger and wife Edith), The Announcer (Andy Nolan), The High School Horses (Doc Weber and Wesley Rogers). It also includes Trained Mules and Donkeys (Billy Lorrette and Bill Carris), Fancy Roping and Horse Catching by World Champions (Chester Byers, Hank Durnell, Amos Clayton, Weaver Gray, Le Roy Scott, Mexican Joe Barrise), Trick and Fancy Riding (George Elser, Otho Kline, Weaver Gray, Hank Durnell, Oge Gomez, George Hooker, the Perry Twins, Mabel Kline, Bee Brazo, and clown Dan Dix), Steer Wrestling (Dusty Demon Bill Picket, Milt Hinkle, Tom Eckhard, Ed Lindsey and Lafe Lewman), The Deadwood Stagecoach with Rocky Mount Hank, Trained Horse Act by Ed Bowman and much, much more including explanation of the tricks of the trade including burning of the wagons, wiring of the horses so as to make them limp. Unbelievable, there is so much more and I have not space to write about it, but this has western and Wild West Show and 101 Ranch information that I was not familiar with. Please read this. There were many a western story published – the common ones about Cowboys and Indians are listed on Ebay every day but the rarer ones about the pioneers of the old west like this one are seldom found. Collectors treasure them and their price guide value rises every day. They are hard to find. I hunt them out because really the better, untold and rarer stories were published in the rest. Here’s one of ‘em. FOLLOWING PURCHASE AND PAYMENT, IF YOU WILL WRITE ME OF YOUR SPECIAL NAME OR INTEREST, I WILL DO A FREE SEARCH OF MY WEBSITE AND UNINDEXED STORIES AND NAMES.
Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western pioneers. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf. Because Old Western History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell. This complete index will be bound and included in this offering at no additional cost.
Folks, sooner or later - Genealogists are going to realize that their family kinfolks are laying on some dealer's dusty shelves. If I can contribute to finding one little name or photo of that long lost ancestor you have been waiting to find, it’s worth all the time I spend. THE WAY A WILD WEST SHOW OPERATED By Milt Hinkle

OLD WILD WEST SHOW MEMORABILIA IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING While others clip ads from magazines, I save history. It’s a shame that our past is being lost. It’s as simple as that. My wife kids me that after I find a piece I like, buy it, read it, research it, take a picture, scan it, write the blurb, pay the Ebay entry fee and commission, that I end up making about 50 cents an hour. But, OH HOW I LOVE THIS OLD WESTERN HISTORY. What a story, Rare Story!!! Great Pictures. You will love it as it was published in this old complete western magazine of many years ago. The issue is in good condition, the cover is in vibrant color.
