WANTED NOW
ONE POOR BLIND CANDIDATE!

E CLAMPUS VITUS
BENEVOLENT SOCIETY

OR HOAX?

FACTUAL PRESENTATION
OF OUR WESTERN TREASURES

Now, folks, I was almost insulted when I found this. My goodness, can you imagine someone challenging the Grand and Nobel Order of the E Clampus Vitus Society. Heavens forbid. How could they? I mean, after all, who would dare challenge the holy initiation rites that indoctrinated thousands of greenhorn miners when the Hewgag sounded the clarion call for fun-loving males ( sounds like a moose mating call) within earshot of it’s melodious tone to drop everything and come a running. Especially, if the call to duty was on a Saturday nite - so married folks would have a good alibi to get out of the house and indulge in manly pleasures. After all, a little horse play is good for all.

OLD ANCIENT ORDER MEMORABILIA
IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING

Folks, as I read on I found that the author had really written a history of this noble order – started really in Pennsyvania by William A. Hall who recorded a book of reminiscences of a secret society called Ecclampsis Viltus; On to the first drummer selected in California as the first blind candidate to be relieved of his earthly possessions and to the naturally clear explanation of why

The Thumpers Thump or which Thumpers Think They Thump.

Covers the meeting of the miners in Nevada and California of the first Clamper lodges. Course, there were no minutes and many of those participating could not remember what happened anyway. There follows a strange recital of the where and wherefores in the story entitled

E CLAMPUS VITUS
BENEVOLENT SOCIETY

OR HOAX?

and noted author Doris Cerveri packs experiences of the Clampers in this great and unusual history. There were many a western story published – the common ones about Cowboys and Indians are listed on Ebay every day but the rarer ones about the Clampers of the pioneer west are seldom found. Collectors treasure them and their price guide value rises every day. They are hard to find. I hunt them out because really the better, untold and rarer stories were published in the rest.

Here’s one of ‘em.

Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western heroes. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf gathering dust. Because Old Western History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell.

This complete index will be bound and included in this offering at no additional cost.
Humbly, I am trying to keep our history alive.
I hope you appreciate the effort.

E CLAMPUS VITUS
BENEVOLENT SOCIETY

By Doris Cerveri

Folks, sooner or later - Genealogists are going to realize that their family kinfolks are laying on some dealer's dusty shelves. If I can contribute to finding one little name or photo of that long lost ancestor you have been waiting to find, it’s worth all the time I spend.

OLD PIONEER HISTORY & MEMORABILIA
IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING

While others clip ads from magazines, I save history. It’s a shame that our past is being lost. It’s as simple as that.

My wife kids me that after I find a piece I like, buy it, read it, research it, take a picture, scan it, write the blurb, pay the Ebay entry fee and commission, that I end up making about 50 cents an hour. But, OH HOW I LOVE THIS OLD WESTERN HISTORY. What a story, Rare Story!!! Great Pictures. You will love it as it was published in this old complete and seldom found western magazine of many years ago. The issue is in excellent condition, the cover is pristine and in vibrant color.
As clearly stated in my description, this is featured story in a rarely found and seldom read unusual and complete western magazine. I don't give out name of publication or date because I have caught competitors copying my index and work and trying to sell it as theirs. I hope you understand.
Buyer pays postage of $3.50 First Class Postage to U. S., $4.50 to Canada. $4.75 Priority Mail. $11.00 Par Avion for International Mail)Texans must pay 8- % sales tax. Thanks,
Tom
