GHOST RAILROADS OF DEATH VALLEY

By Harriett Farnsworth

Ah yes, how sweet it is to relive the days of the Tonopah & Goldfield Railroad “Tug & Grunt”, the Tonopah & Tidewater Railroad “Tired & True” or the Virginia & Truckee Railroad “Very Tired”

True, they are quite today. Kinda a whispered reminder of the golden days when the railroads were snorting and puffing across that self-same region where, in the present day, a few automobiles and airplanes bring fun seeking tourists seeking sun and fun and, maybe even – to search the old remains of the Ghost Railroads of Death Valley.

On all multiple items after the first, you will receive a 10% discount.

Postage will be combined and refund granted if saved

FACTUAL REPRESENTATION

OF OUR WESTERN TREASURES

Folks, back in the heydays before Railroads, old timers prodded their oxen, burros, mule teams and yes – even camels- over the rugged and fearsome trails of Death Valley. There chugged a new kind of “animal” called the Iron Horse who pushed aside those faithful beasts of burden and tied together isolated reaches of the Old West. Names like The Las Vegas & Tonopah, the Bullfrog & Goldfield, the Death Valley Narrow-Gauge; the Tonopah & Tidewater who very names spell out the romance and adventure of the great Southwest. Not my words, friend. but the verbiage and description of a very talented author. What a thrill it is for me to find this great story entitled:

GHOST RAILROADS OF DEATH VALLEY

Here’s one of ‘em.

FOLLOWING PURCHASE AND PAYMENT, IF YOU WILL WRITE ME OF YOUR SPECIAL NAME OR INTEREST, I WILL DO A FREE SEARCH OF MY COLLECTION AND UNINDEXED STORIES AND NAMES. TOM RUSSELL COLLECTION

Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western pioneers. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf. Because Old Western History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell.

This complete index will be bound and included in this offering at no additional cost.

Humbly, I am trying to keep our history alive

I hope you appreciate the effort.

GHOST RAILROADS OF DEATH VALLEY

By Harriett Farnsworth

Folks, sooner or later – Genealogists are going to realize that their family kinfolks are laying on some dealer’s dusty shelves. If I can contribute to finding one little name or photo of that long lost ancestor you have been waiting to find, it’s worth all the time I spend. As a tribute to the honor of our American Indians, my indexed listings will include all Indian names mentioned in the story from this time on.

GHOST RAILROADS OF DEATH VALLEY

By Harriett Farnsworth

OLD DEATH VALLEY RAILROAD

MEMORABILIA IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING

</Font>

While others clip ads from magazines, I save history. It’s a shame that our past is being lost. It’s as simple as that.

My wife kids me that after I find a piece I like, buy it, read it, research it, take a picture, scan it, write the blurb, pay the entry fee and commission, that I end up making about 50 cents an hour. But, OH HOW I LOVE THIS OLD WESTERN HISTORY. What a story, Rare Story!!! Great Pictures. You will love it as it was published in this old complete western magazine of many years ago. The issue is in good condition, the cover is in vibrant color.

As clearly stated in my description, this is featured story in a rarely found and seldom read unusual and complete western magazine. I don't give out name of publication or date because I have caught competitors copying my index and work and trying to sell it as theirs. I hope you understand.

Buyer pays postage of $3.50 First Class Mail to U. S.; $5.00 Priority; $12.30 for International Mail. Texans must pay 8-OE % sales tax. Thanks,

Tom
