As many of you know, I specialize in finding old American Art pictures and stories of long ago that have been overlooked, seldom found and rarely read. Here is the story entitled King Alfonso's Artistic Courtesy which appeared in American News Magazine of 1917. This is a report of the New York Real Art Senation furnished by the Hispanic Museum which showed twenty-four tapestries included ten by Goya, six from Procaccini's History of Don Quixote and eight from Teniers and other Dutch and Glemish painters representing typical weaves of the Spanish royal manufactories. Goes into detail about each with other history and fascinating tapestry detail. Great big size of 8 by 11 1/4 inches with text and pictures. Look below for all named in this story.
