Vintage Rose Roques Handcrafted Mohair Vest I purchased this beautiful vest at an estate auction sometime between 5-10 years ago. Just cannot recall for sure how long it's been since time zips by so fast. It's just been stored all this time. I don't believe it's ever been worn, but since there are no tags and I don't know its actual history, I'm offering it as pre-owned The colors are shades of olive green, a silvery color, and brown combination - quite lovely, actually. I wasn't familiar with Rose Roques so I checked Google and this is what I found: Nestling on a farm in the mountains of the Kingdom of Swaziland is Rose Roques' mohair business, Rosecraft. Rose employs a team of local women who otherwise would have no jobs due to their geographical isolation. Everything is done in-house, from the rearing of the special angora goats for their prized mohair (known as the 'champagne of fibres'), to the dying, spinning and weaving. Rose has worked tirelessly over the years to develop a bible of colour recipes, and it is this artistic and fascinating match of colours which set her woven fabrics apart. It doesn't have a size tag, but I believe this is a size large - most items I purchased at that sale were size large. The measurements are:
Across back at underarms = 24" Across front at underarms = 24" Back length = 27"
It is designed with slits at both sides and each side has a crochet chain with mohair ball at the end to tie - just a cute decoration, really. C-1
