This is an excellent specimen of Aquamarine - the birthstone for March. Based on the color, I must assume that it has been heated, but it is a beautiful shade, VVS in clarity, measures 8x5mm and weighs .72 ct. Aquamarine - the blue variety of beryl - has a soft, more sultry look to it than topaz, and measures 7 1/2 - 8 on the Moh's hardness scale, making it suitable for use in everyday jewelry. It would make an excellent addition to any jewelry or gemstone collection!
