Flourite / Fluorite is a soft material, ranking only 4 on the Moh's hardness scale. As such, it is not suitable for use in jewelry items that will receive rough treatment, such as a ring worn to the office on a daily basis. The stone WILL be damaged. It would however make an outstanding pendant, if care is used while mounting.

Flourite can actually be found in a variety of colors and shades, from white to blue, green to purple. It is frequently found "banded" or with a striped effect, and on occassion, may be a color change material.

This is a large, clean specimen with a unique design in the faceting, creating a sunburst effect. It measures 10 x 8 mm, so it will fit standard pendant settings, and weighs 2.39 carats. It is a clean, vibrant blue-green color, and would make a fantastic addition to any gemstone collection.
