"A Happy New Year Brotherhood Athletic Club 1896" cabinet photo. The photo has the photographer's identification "Diamond 234 Bergenline Ave. Union Hill, N. J." on the border of the front of the mat. The mat measures 6 1/2" by 4 3/16". We do not know what sport(s) that these gentlemen participated in.
Sixteen men are pictured on this cabinet photo. Starting from the top left to right are what appear to be the following names: Jas. E. Flynn Jr., J. Gilney, T. H. Mubelleis, H. Grehskepf, C. T. Miehl. Beginning at left center to right are what appear to be the following names: S. Huber, D. Herzig, R. Zwecker, C. Ritschel. Beginning at left bottom to right bottom are what appear to be the following names: M. Galm, N. Rouscher Jr., N. C. Landt Jr., J. Wooley, F. G. Haerter, H. E. Croissant Jr., H. Thowas. These appear to be the names as best we can read them. But, we are not entirely certain as to what some of the names are.
There is a 3/8" tear & tiny scuff at the left center of the border & there is a slight bump at the top left corner. Otherwise, the cabinet card is in fresh & appealing condition. The condition of this cabinet photo can be clearly seen in the accompanying image.
