This professionally taken cabinet photo shows a bustling scene at the dock. Numerous wagons & carts, some ox drawn & some horsedrawn, are arriving & departing & unloading their cargoes at the docks. The docks are jammed up with cargo ready to be loaded onto the ships. Numerous ships & boats are out in the harbor. One of the ships in the harbor is a paddle side wheeler. There are many black people in the image.

The circa 1880's-1890's cabinet photo appears to have been taken in South America. But, we are not able to pin down a specific country, at this time. There is one wrinkle at the top left corner of the mount. The precise condition of the photo is clearly shown in the pics. The size is 6 1/2" long by 4 1/4" wide.
