A cabinet card photo of P. T. Barnum circus sideshow performer Eli Bowen (also referred to as Borven) who was born missing the part of his legs between his hips and his feet. His bare feet can be seen emerging from his pants right below his hips. Born in 1844, he was sometimes called "the handsomest man in show business." He is shown with his wife Mattie and their son. They are not identified on the card. The card measures 4 1/4" wide by 6 1/2" tall. There are some light brown stains on the image and some light soiling of the mat, front and back.
