A 19th century Victorian Trade Card advertising Deering Harvesting Machinery, specifically the Deering Binder. The card measures 5 1/16" by 3 1/2". The scene on the front shows eight men peering at a salesmen's sample of a Deering Binder. The names printed on the men from left to right are: Dieberling, Esterly, Wood, McCormick, Champion, Plano, and Buckeye. Across the bottom is printed, "The Deering Binder, Carefully Studied and Imitated by All Binder Manufacturers." The men represent the other manufacturers of Binders. This is the earlier and scarcer black and white version of the card which is normally encountered in a later multicolored version. The condition is shown in the pictures that accompany the listing. The two lower corners have diagonal creases.
