A 19th century Victorian Trade Card advertising Excelsior Metal Polish manufactured by Walpole Emery Mills, Boston. The Manufacturers' Agents printed on the card back are Holway, Wright & Miner of New York and Boston. The card measures 5 1/4" by 3 1/4". The scene on the front shows two women, one a black woman in the stereotypical Mammy clothing. She holds a metal pot and a brush. One of the two children shows a cat its reflection in the bottom of a pan which has been polished with Excelsior Metal Polish. The cat hisses and puffs up at the mirror image of itself. This is a beautiful card in excellent condition. The condition is shown in the pictures that accompany the listing.
