Cabinet card with period notation in ink on left front margin: "Our School Building". The back of the cabinet is plain. We are attributing this image to Japanese photographer K. Miyashita as it was in the same group of images that had Miyashita's mark. There are Japanese people in the image. We don't know the location of where the image was made other than that it is highly likely to have been in Japan. The card measures 4 1/4" tall by 6 1/2" wide. The image is of a fine building, apparently a school building, with Japanese standing on the balcony and the doorway at the left end. There are several other Japanese in the scene. I can find no identifying marks or inscriptions in the image other than the inked notation on the left margin. We don't find early Japanese photography such as this in our area often. An interesting cabinet photo. We have several images by this photographer or attributed to this photographer that we are listing on eBay.
