Full plate tintype measuring 6 7/8" wide by 5" tall. Man in riding garb on horse. His clothing might be polo garb? We don't know. He is more formally attired than the cowboy in another tintype that we have listed that turned up together with this image. We do not know the location where the photo was taken. There looks to be lumber stacked vertically to the right of the horse.
This is an interesting image in a nice large size. However, the condition of this tintype is very funky. It has numerous abrasions. It is dark and faded and hard to see clearly. There is rust at the edges and there are bends in the tintype. The condition can be seen in the photo provided. We believe this image and two other tintypes that turned up with it to be by the same photographer, H. K. Heiss. All three are the same size and all three show a man with a horse. One is of a man in clothing similar to the man in this image. The other is of a cowboy on a horse. Each of these tintypes are being offered in separate listings.
