IVORY & GOLD GILDED THEODORE HAVILAND LIMOGES SERVES 8!

This is a once in a life time find! A complete china set that serves 8 by the incomparable Theodore Haviland MADE in Limoges France that has never been used! It is flawless! no crazing, not even a knife or fork mark! I acquired it from an estate on the Jersey Shore and it looks like they got it as a wedding gift and just stuck it in their china closet and never used it. The hallmark is very unique;

BUT ALSO HAS THE T&H EMBOSSING, IF YOU LOOK VERY CLOSELY. THIS IS VERY RARE AND MAKE ME THINK IT MAY BE ONE OF HIS EARLIER WORKS DATING IT 1893, BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN MADE BETWEEN 1893 AND 1900 OR AS LATE AS THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY.
As you may know, it is difficult to exactly date Haviland. It is definitely over a hundred years old and you'd be the first to use it!

It consists of a 7 piece place setting including dinner plate, salad plate, bread plate, soup/consume bowl, tea cup/consume cup (two handled) and matching saucer, and dessert/sorbet bowl and three serving pieces; Turkey Platter, meat platter and vegetable platter. All the pieces are mint and unused except two: 1 dinner plate and one desert bowl have been repaired and are shown in the pictures. Since the set looks unused I would guess it was damaged in a move.
The style it the classic Ivory with the gold gilded band around he edge. It's elegance and simplicity will never go out of style and would go with any decor. I couldn't believe how old it was when I looked up the hallmark! The gilding is mint with now wear (except on the one dinner plate I mentioned earlier) and the detail in the gilding in exquisite. This would make an unbelievable and one of a kind wedding gift! There are 56 Pieces in all and here's what you get:

For the 1650 "buy it now price", I'll also throw in 8 additional pieces I got later by Limoges that do very closely match it but did not come with the original set. Ask for pictures if this interests you.

I am listing this set is for local pick up only but will consider shipping it if you are willing to pay the shipping and packaging costs. Since I am not a professional dealer, I do not feel qualified to package this and the shippers I spoke to quoted me $5 per plate/piece (280)plus materials and shipping, and the shipping could easily be another 200-300. This is because these pieces are very fragile and can't all be shipped in one box and each box must be double boxed. If this is okay with you, I'll happilly send it. Also, If you have a shipping and packaging company you would prefer or you think is less to use that will come, pick it up, package it and ship it, I'd be Happy to accomodate you. Either way, the buyer pays the shipping costs. I think it's well worth it as this set is easily worth 500 a setting and will increase in value but some people get sticker shock with shipping costs - which I can well understand! lol!

REFUND POLICY:

Excellent Estate Condition: Showing very slight signs of wear, maybe used a handful of times, might be tarnished because of age and have a few hardly noticeable scratches. These items may even still be in their original wrapping and never opened.

Very Fine Estate Condition: May show minor scratches, signs of light use, minimal damage, patterns and relief will be crisp, well finished, it is apparent that they have been well cared for over the years.

Fine Estate Condition: Items have been regularly used by the owners, patterns will show wear.

Good Estate Condition: Items have been well worn, patterns may be worn, signs of damage and/ or improper cleaning will be noted.

 
THIS SET IS IN EXCELLENT ESTATE CONDTION EXCEPT FOR  THE ONE DINNER PLATE AND ONE DESERT BOWL  THAT I PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED AND ARE DEPICTED IN THE PHOTOS.
