Vintage Cameo Brooch

This is one of the sweetest cameos I have seen. Initially, the cameo looks like black glass and it is difficult to see the face of the Grecian beauty in the cameo. Because if this, I have shown photographs of the cameo from different angles, with the hope that you can see the face easily. When a light shines through it, the glass is actually a deep amber color. The cameo is set into a high gold-tone setting. Around the base of the setting is a twisted rope motif, surrounded by a row of simulated seed pearls. Below the pearls is a lightly incribed edge. All of the simulated pearls have lost their coating, but somehow, this really does not interfere with the beauty of this piece. There is one slight green spot on the bottom edge that shows up much more boldly in the photo than in person. In person, it is barely visible. The back of the piece shows only vintage wear. The pin assembly and the clasp are replacements, however, someone took great care in replacing them and did an excellent job. The safety clasp on the pin works well.

This is a small cameo. It is 1 1/4" wide, 1" tall and it is just over 1/4" from the top to the bottom. Cameo is in very good vintage condition
