an absolutely gorgeous unmarked LARGE OVAL RUFFLED MORIAGE BOWL. The hand-painted decoration features lovely, delicate aster, violets and cabbage roses. Each flower is greatly detailed in multiple shades of purple and mauve with complimentary greenery.

The piece is painted a soft moss green color with hand-decorated gold leaf accents throughout the piece.

There are a number of attributes that make this piece truly remarkable ~ its unique scalloped mold, the floral cameos which appear in four places of the piece (they are different), and the moriage gold and white beading and white enamel scrolling.

It measures approximately 13 1/2 inches long, 9 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches tall.

Although this is a very delicate mold, the piece is obviously strong – wearing well for more than 100 years with no staining, discoloration, chips, cracks, hairlines, repair or other damage. No apparent crazing and gold wear appropriate to its age.
