MY FAVORITE THINGS is a very enjoyable read about decorating a home and entertaining in high society of the 1960's! Wife of composer Richard Rodgers, of the renowned Rodgers & Hammerstein, Mrs. Rodgers writes about her style of decorating a house, parties, entertaining, food and how to serve it beautifully. She also highlights the satisfactions of being a woman. There are 20 pages of color photographs of settings, both in her home and other celebrities' homes.

The menus and recipes are superb. Try the delicious Hot Fruit with Custard Sauce, the German Apple Pancakes, Lamb in Pastry, and the Summer Shrimp and Cucumber Soup. Absolutely the best food creations.

The book illustrations were done by Jeremiah Goodman. Color photos feature mid-century decor in the homes of Joshua Logan, Otto Preminger, Dorothy Hammerstein, and the Rodgers' New York home, along with many other well known celebs of the times. This oversized book has a clean tight interior. The front end pages have some small marks and erasures. The dust jacket shows edge wear and there are some small stains on the boards. This one is a keeper.
