SPECIFICS:

This is a 1961C-87, according to Farah's Guide, 12th edition. The DJ front flap lists to the Mystery of the Fire Dragon (#38), price code is 100100, age code is 100-150; the rear flap lists Vicki Barr mysteries to The Clue in the Carved Ruby (#14), and the back lists Dana Girls Mysteries to the Mystery of the Bamboo Bird (#22). The book has a blue tweed cover with a blue silhouette Nancy Drew, blue multi-pic endpapers, plain frontispiece; it lists to Fire Dragon (#38) and Dana Girls Sierra Gold (#23) on the inside.
 

This is a very nice copy of a 1961 edition. The point of interest on this volume is that it was the last printing of this book with a dust jacket. It is the third cover art for this volume, and only 2 printings were made with this cover art in jacket form. This is known as the 'glowing bracelets' cover art and is very collectible in Nancy Drew collector circles.
 

CONDITION:

The jacket is in good condition. There are some pieces missing along the top and bottom edges and the flap folds. There is also some creasing and closed tears along the edges and flap folds. There is a one inch closed tear along the upper back through the letter C in Nancy. A previous owner has added pencil check marks next to most of the books listed on the front flap. These are visible in the scans. There is evidence of contact with moisture on the bottom edge of the front flap. If you look at the underside of the jacket, you can see exposure to moisture on the bottom edge of the spine also. This does not show through to the front. Overall, it is in good condition.
 

The book is in very good condition. There is shelf wear/rubbing on the top and bottom edges. The outside color is strong and bright - no fading. It is clean inside. The pages are clean, crisp, and firmly attached. There is no writing anywhere in the book. There is also no evidence of any moisture contact on the book binding or on the pages inside.
